Starglobe is a beautiful and intuitive stargazing app that uses your camera to precisely spot and identify celestial objects in sky, day or night. Find your favorite constellations as they fade in and out while you scan across the sky, locate the Moon, discover distant galaxies, and witness satellite fly-bys.

You dont need to be an astronomer to find stars or constellations in the sky, just open Starglobe and let it guide you to their location and identify them.

Whether youre in search of the constellation Virgo, the Andromeda Galaxy or the next big meteor shower, Starglobe is jam-packed with information and rich graphics that will satisfy the most curious minds.

Its a star! Its a plane! No, its a satellite! Starglobe features hundreds of bright satellites for you to identify and track - including the International Space Station (ISS) and Hubble.

Use Starglobe anywhere — on your evening dog walk, camping trips or in the classroom. Starglobe works with or without Wi-Fi, cellular service or GPS, so everything is at your fingertips no matter where you go.

Features:

• Simple: Point your device at the sky to identify galaxies, stars, constellations and satellites (including the ISS and Hubble) passing overhead at your location.
• Augmented Reality (AR): Use your camera to spot objects in the sky, day or night.
- Huge stellar catalog: 111,000 stars, galaxies constellations and satellites!
- Get the facts on what you are looking at, including distance and brightness.
- Red night mode: Preserve your dark-adapted eyesight.
• Social: Capture and share beautiful images with friends and family on social networks.
• Mobile: WiFi is NOT required (does not require a data signal or GPS to function). Take it camping, boating, or even flying!

What a fun way to teach yourself, your children, your students, or your friends about our wonderful universe!

Optional Starglobe Pro is available for $99.99/year. You can subscribe and pay through your iTunes account. Pros and cons of Night Sky Map: Planet Explorer app for iPhone and iPad

Night Sky Map: Planet Explorer app good for

Always allows me to help my children name planets and constellations! Highly recommend!
Amazing App, Im totally addicted. Its so easy to tell the stars out of the sky... Magical
Unbelievably fantastic , this app is the one, it provides instant astronomical identification plus. Thank You Developers.

Some bad moments

Very disappointed. The positioning of the stars on the phone doesnt even match what you see in the sky. No customer support available.
This app is like opening a 3rd year algebra book. Theres all kinds of info, but you dont know what youre looking at. Theres no instructions, no how to, not a single word about the app or how to use it. Just a bunch of Latin names, half the screen black and half the screen blue. I pointed it at Orion but nowhere on my iPhone screen did I see Orion. I pointed it at 2 very bright planets and the screen showed me one planet. Theres only 2 buttons on the screen, one shows you earth when you touch it, the other button goes back to the blue/black screen. Probably a fine app, but without a single word on how to use it its a waste of time (and money).
Love it although u do have to reset it all the time. U could surly use this for space projects!!!!
This was one of the first apps I downloaded when I finally got an iPad and Ive used it every night so far. Cool app to demonstrate new toy to friends.
Star and constellation names need to stay visible longer. Not all stars are named, even major ones are missing. Helps identify constellation location if familiar with the constellation.
Very interesting if you have interest in the night sky; not too difficult to use. The earth screen needs some definite clarification and explanation; itd be nice to have a simple "home" location. There are also times that it doesnt update to the direction you are facing the phone.. But still not bad.
